Reiki is a relaxation therapy which promotes healing. Treatment is done with gentle touch or no-touch and there is no manipulation of the body. A Reiki treatment helps to balance energy flow in the body and increase absorption of Universal Life Force (a vital, compassionate energy).
Regular Reiki treatments can be part of a wellness program by boosting immunity and reducing stress. It is used as a complement to, not a replacement for, traditional medical treatment. Reiki is becoming increasingly recognized by the medical community as an effective treatment for relaxation. Several New Hampshire hospitals offer Reiki to pre and post-operative patients, or through integrative medicine or pain treatment centers. Reiki is also effective on animals.

What is treatment like?
The Reiki client will sit or lie down fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner will gently place their hands on the chakras (energy centers) or specific area to be treated. There is no manipulation of the body and only appropriate touch is used within the comfort level of the client. Some clients experience heat or tingling from the practitioner’s hands, and sometimes no immediate sensation is felt. Because the treatment involves subtle healing energy vibrations, there is always a positive benefit from a treatment even though there is no immediate sensation. The client usually experiences deep relaxation which facilitates healing from injury, pain, physical illness and emotional illness. Treatments are available in person or remotely.
